Rec Youth Soccer

Eligibility

To be eligible, the minimum age to play is 5 and the oldest is 3rd grade. Teams are coached by parent volunteers with assistance from Green High School Varsity soccer players. We do not take coach or team placement requests. Rosters will be posted online a few weeks before the season begins.

Commitment

The Spring and Fall seasons consist of 2 weekday practices (M/W or T/Th) with games played on Sundays at Boettler Park in Green. The cost is $100. Financial aid is available, please contact us about qualifying.
Winter training is available for our rec program. Get all the details!

Equipment Needed

size 4 soccer ball (any brand)
shin-guards
water bottle
sneakers (cleats optional but recommended)
rec requires a green/white GSA jersey (same as past years). You can re-use, borrow, or purchase one during the registration process for $20

Coaches Needed

Volunteering as a coach is a rewarding way to support your child’s participation in soccer while also helping other young players learn the fundamentals of the game and develop a lifelong love of the sport. No prior coaching experience is necessary! The league will provide you with a comprehensive coaching manual that covers all the key concepts and techniques to teach your team as well as a training session to prepare you for a successful season on the sidelines. As an added bonus, coaches will be reimbursed for their child’s playing fee as a token of appreciation for volunteering their time and energy. Please indicate in the registration process if you are interested in coaching.
